THE FEAST

The Celts used herbs and spices that were available.

Foods would be gingerbread, elderflower & cheese pies. Meats include, veal, venison, partridge, pheasant, boar and hare. Fish in the form of salmon, trout, mackeral, oysters, mussles, cockles, crabs & shrimps.

After the Romans arrived (the first to write about the Celts), many ingredients they brought would have found their way into the original Celtic recipes and visa versa.
